The end of first quarter means the end of fall sports. Sophomore Sophie Sanders is on the varsity cross country team. She will be a two-year letterman when the season is over.
Throughout the season she was at the front of the pack until she suffered an injury. This injury put her on the sideline for a few weeks until she was cleared by her doctor. She was disappointed she couldn’t run for the majority of the season, but she was still there to support her teammates.
The girls’ cross country team is very close and are like a family to one another. Sophie really just loves running but having a the support from her team is what pushes her to be her best.
When Sophie came back from her injury, she got 36th in conferences and then went to the McQuaid meet. After McQuaid, she went on to districts.
