Browns’ first overall draft selection Myles Garrett from Texas A&M puts on a Browns hat after being selected while surrounded by family and friends in his hometown in Texas.

The Cleveland Browns were on the clock for a couple months as they had the first overall pick. Most wanted edge rusher, Myles Garrett, from Texas A&M.

A few days before the draft several reports came out that involved the Browns drafting QB Mitch Trubisky from North Carolina, Trubisky is a local prospect, he is from Mentor, Ohio.

The Browns did stick with the much smarter pick by taking Myles Garrett number one overall, as most expected. The Browns also held the 12th pick in the draft but they traded down to the 25th pick with the Houston Texans. The Texans moved up to 12 to take the QB out of Clemson, Deshaun Watson.

The Browns drafted the safety and linebacker hybrid from Michgain, Jabril Peppers. Some liked the pick, some didn’t, but Peppers is a stellar athlete and gives the Browns’ defense some more athleticism.

The Browns then traded the 33rd pick to move up to pick 29. They then selected David Njoku, a TE from Miami Univeristy (Fl.) Njoku is a bit raw, but he is another great athlete with for sure hands. With Gary Barnidge getting up there in age, Njoku has a chance to be the Browns’  starting TE, or will  mix in time with Seth Devalve, who was drafted last season. Njoku can be a deadly weapon in an offense that needs playmakers.

Rounds 2-3 are Friday and start at 7, then the rest of the draft, rounds 4-7 wraps up on saturday. The Browns’ have several picks left spread throughout rounds 2-6 and with this draft being one of the deepest in recent years, there is loads of talent the Browns can still grab in the second and third days of the 2017 NFL Draft.
