    This is a reminder that as of November 1, 2017, if you are not in your 1st period classroom by 8:00 AM, you will receive a detention.

     

    The weight room will be closed until further notice.

     

    Attention seniors, the Jostens representatives are back at LHS today, to take cap and gown orders during lunch periods in the Book Room.

     

    Seniors!  Stop by the Bookroom any day this week, Nov. 13th thru the 17th to sign up to be an Elf for Toys for Tots.

     

     

    Interacts Chipotle fundraiser is tonight Lakewood Chipotle, from 4:00-8:00pm. Be sure to mention Interact or Shelterbox to the cashier….All proceeds will benefit Shelterbox USA!

     

     

    Past and present students of French class, if interested, a trip to France is being offered over spring break!  Please see Madame Braquet for more details!

     

     

    If you are in a math class, listen up. Math Study Tables are will be held tomorrow morning. You must be in the cafeteria by 7:15am so Ms. Sandor can walk the group up to her classroom.

     

    Auditions for the Winter One Act Play Festival are Monday, November 20th from 3:00-5:00pm in the Black Box Studio Theatre.  Stop by the theatre this week for an audition packet!

     

    Model UN will meet after school today at 3:10 in C314 to debrief the fall conference.

     

    The Class of 2019 is collecting monetary donations during 3° all of this week for “Hope for the Holidays”.  Dr. Peterson’s class is in the lead with Ms. McQuay’s class following in a very close second and Mr. Roth’s class is trailing way behind in third place.  The class that raises the most money will win the first place prize of a food party of their choosing and the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that this donation drive will help to feed 300 Lakewood families this Thanksgiving and Christmas.

     

    Did you know that November is Trans Awareness month? To help educate others and celebrate the transgender community, Club ID & the Barnstormers will be watching the movie Boys Don’t Cry after school this Friday in the Black Box Theater. This is our annual dinner and a movie night, so pizza, snacks, and beverages will be provided. The film will start at 3:15PM, with a brief activity to follow upon completion. The event should wrap up around 6PM. We hope to see you there!

     

    This year’s Light Up Lakewood Festival will be held on Saturday, December 2nd.  As part of lakewoodalive’s commitment to fostering & sustaining vibrant neighborhoods, we are partnering w/Plantation Home owner David Stein, to provide two $500.00 scholarships to Lakewood residents who are currently high school juniors. This scholarship celebrates community service, pride in Lakewood, and a commitment to further strengthening the community.  Application forms for this scholarship are available in the Guidance office.  Applications must be emailed to [email protected] by tomorrow at 5:00pm or mailed to and it (must be postmarked by tomorrow 11/16/17):

    We need all hands on deck at the Westerly this Friday after school. Bring a friend and deliver groceries to senior citizens in the apartment building. Sign up outside the H2O office in the cafeteria.
