The highly rated reality TV show: Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) recently had its season finale. Coming in 1st place and winning the Mirror-ball trophy was couple Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold; in 2nd was violinist Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas; 3rd place was awarded to Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson.

This was the first win for dancer Lindsay Arnold who has been on Dancing With the Stars for 6 seasons. For season 25 (the most recent one), Lindsay and Jordan set the record for the most perfect scores with a total of 9. Additionally, Arnold achieved a feat that has not been reached yet, by finishing 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and then finally 1st in four consecutive seasons.

Fisher, having been on multiple shows (The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and Liv and Maddie) and movies (Teen Beach Movie 2) in the past, had a strong fan base behind to support him.

However, Fisher has received some backlash for being a “too experienced” dancer for the amateur dance show. His background includes starring in “Grease: Live”, and the broadway show “Hamilton”, as well as having many years of theatre and gymnastic experience. Fisher responded to this chatter with “But I am learning from scratch. All ballroom is new to me. All ballroom, period. The end…”

The couple had managed to snatch the win even with having Arnold suffer from a traumatic leg injury, and Fisher, a scratched cornea a week before the finale. But, they  pulled through, and gave it their all–which paid off in the end.

Season 26 of DWTS premiere date has not been announced yet, but when they do return, the season will have only athletes competing for the trophy!
