    Sounds of the Season

    Sounds+of+the+Season

Sounds of the Season is the annual holiday concert held at Lakewood High School that consists of all the school’s top ensembles, with Wind Ensemble providing the winds and percussion, Symphony and Chamber Orchestra providing strings, and Chamber Choir providing the vocals (with help from the children’s choir). The concert features a huge list of ensembles, from the whole combined group pieces, to orchestra and band features, to smaller groups, such as a cello octet and a saxophone quintet. No matter what you’re looking for, Sounds of the Season will put you in a Christmas mood with this two and half hour holiday concert.

LHS senior Layali Banna who is now playing viola in her third and final Sounds of the Season says, “It’s really exciting when the band and orchestra come together and to hear us all create music as a whole.”

Orchestra director Dr. Hankins says, “It’s a great showcase of all the music talent and passion we have at Lakewood High School. We enjoy spreading the holiday cheer throughout the Lakewood community.”

The first Sounds of the Season concert was last night the 14th, but there is one more chance for you to come see this winter wonder of a concert, with the final show Friday 15th. The concert starts at 7:30, with many other festivities besides the concert, such as an art showing in the lobby, and a raffle to play the famous whip part in the song sleigh ride. So no matter what you look for in celebrating this holiday season, there is something for you at Sounds of the Season at Lakewood High School.
