    Pre-Sound of Season Art Show

On Thursday, December 14th in the Civic Auditorium Lobby the Lakewood High School Art Department held a Photography, Ceramics and Fiber Arts show. Each student in these three classes had 2 pieces of their own art work displayed. Three awards were given out in each class.

Fiber Arts is a very fun art class that is for everyone. We learned many different techniques such as sewing, paper mache, altered book, batik, and marionettes. Ms. Sabin taught us all these different techniques so at the end of the semester we could tie them altogether for our puppets. This is a great class for anyone who would rather do hands on art then drawing. You also learn a lot of things that could possible help you in the future.

Ceramics 1 teaches you the basic vocabulary and how to work with clay. Ceramics is also a great class for students that like hands on art. This class is very fun and you get to make many beautiful pieces of art. “My favorite project we did in Ceramics would have to be the coasters I enjoyed making them. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to take a fun art class” said Caitlin Gang.

In Photography you learn how to develop your own photos and use film photography.  Photo is also hands on and involves no drawing!! ” My favorite part was seeing how my photos turned out and I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in taking photos or art without the drawing aspect.” said Victoria Gregg

This was a great idea everyone walking into the concert got to look at some of Lakewood’s finest artwork.
