    “A Wrinkle in Time” Movie

    A Wrinkle in Time Movie

When I was younger, I always enjoyed reading classic books. One of these books was “A Wrinkle in Time”. It is just as unique and unexplainably creepy as it is exciting and emotion-evoking. Just recently, I was surprised to learn that its first publication date was in 1962, because I did not expect it to be that old. But perhaps that speaks to the fact that it, like so many other children’s classics, is timeless.

For those of you who haven’t yet read it, here is a brief summary. The plot is centered around teenager Meg Murray and her younger brother Charles Wallace, whose father went missing several years ago. When they discover a triplet of interstellar beings named Mrs. Witch, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Whatsit, them and Meg’s classmate Calvin O’Keefe go on a journey to find them. The way leads them to a planet where the most evil force across the galaxy resides, and they have to rescue their father without becoming victims themselves.

Like I said before, I always loved the book growing up. But for the past few years I forgot about it because it is aimed towards younger children. But while I was at the theater, I saw a trailer for “A Wrinkle in Time” that will come out later this year. The movie will be starring Storm Reid as Meg and Deric McCabe as Charles Wallace. Other actors starring will include Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Reese Witherspoon, and Chris Pine.

I usually am not crazy about making books into movies, because I am always afraid the film will never be able to do the original justice. But I am genuinely excited for this movie. The cast and trailer looked very promising. The release date is March 9th, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing it.
