Celebrity couple Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West (already parents to North and Saint West) welcome new daughter: Chicago. Chicago was born on January 15, 2018 via surrogate (who has not been named). Kim has been very vocal and outspoken in interviews and on the recent season of her hit show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” about how she would have faced dangerous delivery difficulties if she were to have another child herself.
Kim was hesitant to have a surrogate because she was worried that their relationship would be awkward. She said:”I just felt like I wanted, whoever’s carrying my baby, like what if they weren’t a fan of me or my husband? And what if they didn’t want to be carrying our baby?” Fortunately, the surrogate was a fan of the show and admired Kim for speaking about her labor barriers.
People were a bit alarmed at the reveal of the new baby’s name, however not shocked as Kim is known for peculiar baby names (take North West, for example). But, Kim had a reasoning behind this choice of name: Kanye grew up in Chicago and the name is a tribute to his mother Donda.
Kim, announced the great news on her website which simply read:”She’s here! We’re so in love.” The media was quick to spread their congratulations.
Around the time that Kim announced “she” was pregnant, rumors started spreading that her sister, Kylie was also pregnant. Many took the surrogate being private and hidden as a sign that Kylie was the actual surrogate. We are still waiting on Kylie to deny or affirm this claim. Something tells me we are going to be waiting for awhile.
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” are on E! on Sundays at 9pm.
