Stephen Reis is a senior at Lakewood High School. Reis is now in his fourth and final baseball season for the Rangers. The varsity team started off their season with a 14 to 0 win over Valley Forge. Stephen started at catcher and caught all five innings in the game. I got to talk and ask the Ranger’s catcher some questions, listed below.

Q: How long have you been playing baseball?

A: ” I have been playing baseball since I was four years old.”

Q:  What number do you wear and does your number have a specific/special meaning?

A: ” I wear the number 8. It was my dad’s number throughout his entire life and I first started wearing it because of him and I’ve never worn a different number since.”

Q: Would you play in college if you have the chance?

A: “If I got the chance to play baseball in college I would definitely do it. I wouldn’t give it a second thought.”

Q: Who is your favorite baseball player?

A: ” My favorite player right now is probably Jose Ramirez.”

Q: What advice would you give to any upcoming athletes?

A: ” Advice I would give to upcoming players is probably yo never take advantage of the game because you never know when you’re gonna have to stop playing and to always work hard.”

Q: Who is your favorite baseball team and why?

A: ” My favorite baseball team is the Cleveland Indians because I’ve grown up rooting for them.”

We wish Stephen and the Lakewood baseball program good luck this season and hope success comes their way!
