    NFL Draft

    NFL Draft

The 2018 NFL Draft took place on April 26th and it sparked a lot of hope for many NFL teams and players trying to make a future in the league. One of the major talks of this years draft was the amount of potential coming from five different quarterbacks.

USC quarterback Sam Darnold and UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen were the two in the conversation for going number one overall to the Cleveland Browns, who have desperately needed a quarterback since coming back into the league in 1999. However, the Browns had other plans yesterday when they shocked everyone by drafting the Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield out of Oklahoma with the number one pick and corner back Denzel Ward from Ohio State with the number four pick.

Of course this shocked a lot of Cleveland fans, but it didn’t go as bad as it could have like years before.

Rosen dropped to the number 10 pick and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals were he will team up with Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and running back David Johnson. He told reporters when he got drafted that there were “Nine mistakes made before him” and that they will regret not taking him with the chance that they had.

What seemed to shock the whole NFL community and all others watching was with the last pick in the final round, the Baltimore Ravens selected QB Lamar Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Winner, 2017 Heisman runner-up and holder of 42 records at Louisville. Such an amazing athlete that everyone looked over and didn’t give the chance to stated, “Y’all going to get a lot of wins. I’m coming. They’re going to get a super bowl out of me. Believe that.”

Now we just have to wait until the actual NFL season starts to see all of this great young talent take over the league.
