Well, my time at Lakewood High School is coming to a close. It has been an eventful last four years and I am excited for the next chapter of my life. This upcoming fall, I will attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Before I leave LHS forever, I thought I would share some of my favorite memories and some advice to the underclassmen.

One of favorite memories of LHS would definitely be going to most of the football games on Friday nights. I also enjoyed being on the cross-country team and taking weekend road trips to various cross-country meets and invitationals.

Another aspect of LHS that I liked was the old building before it was destroyed and the new building took its place. I remember eating lunch in the old East Cafeteria and all the fun activities that would take place in the L-Room.

From the time that we entered LHS, we were constantly being told to adapt to our surroundings because the construction of the school had just begun. From walking across the street to the mods to boycotting standardized tests to various protests, LHS has been quite the place over these past four years.

Some advice that I would like to give to the underclassmen would such:  go to as many school events as possible over the last four years. You will regret it if you don’t. Try your hardest with getting good grades as well as take college credit classes to save money for your future. Lastly, have fun. Don’t get yourself caught up in the small things. Focus on the big picture and that is to enjoy yourself because in a blink of an eye, high school is over.
