On September 20th, 2018, the Cleveland Browns played the New York Jets. This season, the Browns began with a record of 0-1-1, the Jets began with a record of 1-1-0, and this was the first time in three years that the Browns were favored to win a home game.

The game did not start off the way the Browns had planned. They gave up some good plays on defense, leading to a deficit of 14-0. Before the end of the 1st half, the Browns were able to score 3 points with a field goal. Although it seemed like too much to overcome, the Browns did not give up.

With 1:45 left in the first half, the Browns No.1 overall pick, Baker Mayfield, went into the game. This was his rookie debut because the Browns starting quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, suffered a head injury and had to come out of the game. Throughout the rest of the game, Mayfield was 17 of 23, helping lead the Browns to score another field goal and two more touchdowns. This resulted in a victory over the Jets, 21-17. The spotlight was all on Baker Mayfield that night; for he was able to break a 19-game losing streak.

This losing streak began in 2016 on Christmas Eve, and lasted 635 days. This streak included a historic 0-16 season last year that left Cleveland fans disappointed. But fans finally have something to root for and to look forward to.
