    UAV

The UAV is some of the most advanced technology we have today. A UAV, an unmanned aerial vehicle, commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. The first time the UAV was used was on 1849. A UAV does not need a pilot on board.

UAVs are remote-controlled aircrafts, flown by a pilot at a ground control station or can fly autonomously based on pre-programmed flight plans. The UAV was invented because troops on the ground needed an eye in the sky which means the UAV could tell who on the ground is enemy or friendly.

There are many of types of UAVs. One type of UAV is Target and decoy, providing ground and aerial gunnery toward target that simulates an enemy aircraft or missile. Another type of UAV is reconnaissance, providing battlefield intelligence and information of all threats. This has saved so many American lives across the world. A third type of UAV is combat UAV, this UAV provides attack capability for high risk missions. The combat UAV releases rockets and missiles to danger zones filled with enemies.

Another UAV type is research and development it is used to develop new technologies to be integrated into field deployed UAV air crafts. Another type of UAV is Civil and Commercial UAV. It specifically designed for civil and commercial applications. For example if they needed more information about a population the UAV supports that.

The last type of UAV is logistic UAV, The logistic UAV delivers cargo and shipment of almost anything. This UAV is a complicated drone because it takes a lot of equipment to function. Small UAVs mostly use lithium polymer batteries instead of gasoline. For bigger UAVs they usually use gasoline.

UAVs use electric power because it take less energy for a flight and electric motors are quieter than others. Senior Devon brown said, “The UAV has saved many lives and it can save more if technology improves, and adapts to new environments and situations.”  The UAV is an amazing technology and it will improve every year and it is going to saves millions of lives over the next century.
