You were able to pre-order the iPhone XR on Friday, October 19th, 2018 and devices started shipping on October 26th.
Finally being available a month after the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the iPhone XR is here. The iPhone XR is the model with a slightly larger screen than the 5.8 inch iPhone XS, but is also a little smaller than the 6.5 inch iPhone XS Max.
It also offers something a little differently…
The 6.1 inch LCD is colorful and “crisp” with excellent angles, but just not quite as good as the OLED displays on the top iPhones, like the XS and XS Max.
The bezels– a grooved ring holding the glass or plastic cover of a watch face or other instrument in position, are also noticeably larger than the other iPhones, making it look a little like an iPhone XS in a case. The body is aluminum and glass, rather than having stainless steel sides, which makes it a little less slippery and easier to grip.
Even though the XR is well made, it feels less luxurious than the iPhone XS or the previous all-metal iPhones. Apple is not making cases for the iPhone XR, which means you can only purchase a case from third-party companies or manufacturers.
Battery life on the other hand is all-around better than both the iPhone XS and XS Max. The iPhone XR lasted over 32 hours between charges, matching last year’s iPhone X, meaning it would make it from a 7am wake up alarm until around 3pm the next day.
Ali Alhamdani, who recently purchased the iPhone XR says, ” It’s freaking beautiful. I love it, and would recommend it to anyone.”
Overall, the new iPhone is ahead of its time physically, technically, and visually. Anyone is lucky to have the new model.
