On October 5th, 2000, the show Gilmore Girls aired for the first time. The show aired on The WB Television Network for 6 seasons. Its final season was on the CW and ended on May 15th, 2007. The show had a one-season-long spin-off on Netflix, looking at a year in the life of the stars a couple of years after the finale of the original series. The show takes place in the small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. The main characters are Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory Gilmore.  The show follows their lives as they navigate school, jobs, boyfriends, and life together. Now, this little town is coming to Akron, Ohio.

On Sunday, November 18th, the “Lock 3” park in downtown Akron will become the beloved town of Stars Hollow. The event will take place from 1 pm to 5 pm, and will include showings of a couple of the original Gilmore Girls episodes, trivia games about the show, and even a voting booth where people can vote for their favorite of Rory’s boyfriends. You can even go and visit the famous “Luke’s Diner”, which will be in the the Lock Next cafe.

For anyone who is unable to go and visit the true set of Gilmore Girls (the one all the way out in California), this event is a great way to feel as though they are a part of one of their favorite shows. Annika Mintzlaff, a local fan of the show says, “It sounds like an awesome experience and I hope that I will be able to participate in it.”
