Hip-Hop remained supreme among the masses as the nations largest music genera. Juice WRLD leads the pack of young and hungry talent that has shaped musics future.

Jarad Higgins, better known as Juice WRLD, a 20-year-old from Chicago, helped explore the emotional side of hip hop and make it popular. With the death of rapper friend XXXtentacion, Juice WRLD forced the masses to give an ear to the young, new, emerging style of rap. Juice Worlds, “Lucid Dreams”, is platinum in five countries, a song coming from his debut album, Goodbye & Good Riddance.

Juice also released and album with Hip-Hop giant, Future named WRLD ON DRUGS. The album is complete with 16 songs; it features big names such as Lil Wayne, Young Thug and Nicki Minaj. Juice WRLD has been named Breakthrough Artist of The Year by Apple and is looking to do even more in 2019.

We talked to LHS students to see if they agreed with Apple. Senior Will Adams stated, “I think he deserved it. He really did so much this year and he came out of nowhere.”  Senior Sophia Murphy weighed in saying, “At the beginning of the year I couldn’t tell you who he was, but by summer he was easily the most listened to artist.”
