    The Rangers’ basketball team is looking to have another successful season under head coach, Alex Cammock. Last year, they went 22-3 and lost many key players including Jacob Sala, Liam Doup, and Noah Stadler. Tommy Sala, Tim Smith, and Zion Darby all look to have huge seasons as they played big minutes last year as juniors. The Rangers have started off their season with a record of 2-1.

    On December 3rd, the Rangers started off their season against they’re rival, St. Edwards but fell short and lost 79-51. Since then, they have rattled 2 wins in a row against Amherst and Berea-Midpark. Tommy Sala said, “It was a wake-up call after our game against St. Eds but we are looking forward to bouncing back.” The next game Tommy had 25 points leading the team to a 73-34 win. Against Berea-Midpark, the Rangers had a tough time scoring the basketball as the final score was only 43-34. Lakewood wasn’t prepared for a 2-3 zone that the Knights.

    Lakewood has a big game this Friday against Olmsted Falls. Last year they tied with the Rangers for the SWC Championship. Olmsted Falls is expected to return most of their team as they only lost two seniors. Whoever wins this game will have a huge advantage going forward in the season.
