Lakewood Basketball Takes Home Another Win

Lakewood Basketball Takes Home Another Win

On Friday, January 11th, the boys basketball team traveled to Westlake to play the Demons. Going into the game, Westlake’s record was 3 wins and 10 losses and Lakewood’s record was 7 wins and 2 losses.

The game started off with a pretty even battle between the Demons and the Rangers. In the first quarter, Lakewood won the tip off and dodged down the court, but was unable to score. Westlake then had possession of the ball and was able to score first.

At halftime, Lakewood strutted to the locker room holding the lead in the heated game. They came out stronger than ever in the second half and dominated against the Demons. Towards the end of the game, Lakewood took the lead and started to play 2nd string and Junior Varsity players.

Nate Mims, a junior on the varsity team, stated, “Playing Westlake was great. Even though we started off kind of rough, we came back to win the game. I am looking forward to playing them for a second time in the season.”

The final score of the game was 77-54 Lakewood.

Since last Friday, the boys have played the Midview Middies and unfortunately lost a hard-fought battle with the score being 33-45.

Do not worry though, the boys play a home game this Friday, January 18th against North Ridgeville.
