Actor Luke Perry Dies of Stroke

On Monday March 4th, Luke Perry passed away after suffering a stroke on February 27th. He was transported to a Burbank hospital from his home and reportedly never regained consciousness.

Luke Perry was born in an Ohio town in 1966. He moved to California and worked a few odd jobs to pay for acting classes. He got his first big break when he was cast in the tv series Beverly Hills, 90210.

Perry was more recently known for his role as Fred Andrews on the CW series Riverdale, based on the Archie comic books. The show is currently airing its second season, filming its third, and has been renewed for a fourth season.

The show’s executive producers released the following statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry. A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all. A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time.”

Senior Ally Latham commented on his passing saying, “I see what an impact he had on those around him and I loved the energy he constantly spread.”

Filming for Riverdale has stopped as the cast and crew mourn their co-star and friend. Many of the show’s cast members have made statements on their co-stars passing, articulating that it is a major loss for anyone that knew him.

Kj Apa, who plays Archie Andrews, posted a photo of his on-screen father with a short and sweet caption that read: “Rest in Love bro.”

It is very clear that Luke Perry made an impact on anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. His passing marked a dark and sad time for many and is a major loss.
