What is the newest movie everyone is talking about? “Us.” This new horror film will have you jumping out of your seats and make you paranoid about everything. The movie was designed to make you think and use your brain to look for clues.

The film was produced by Jordan Peele, Jason Blum, Sean McKittrick and Ian Cooper. Jordan Peele is also, a producer of the movie “Get Out.”

The four main characters are played by Lupita Nyong’o (Adelaide), Winston Duke (Gabe, father), Shahadi Wright Joseph (Zora, daughter), and Evan Alex (Jason, son). The movie first released Friday, March 22, 2019. It has had many reviews since then. IMDb rated the movie a 7.5 out of 10.

Writer, Jeffrey M. Anderson, of Common Sense Media says, “Jordan Peele’s horror shocker can’t compete with its sensational predecessor Get Out, but it doesn’t have to.”

In the movie, The Wilson family takes a trip to Santa Cruz, California, to spend time alone with just family at Adelaide’s childhood home. Coming back to the house though, it’s bringing back bad memories. As a child little Adelaide Wilson stumbled upon an abandoned house of mirrors, finding something deeply horrid, a mirror opposite of her, her doppelgänger.

From a past childhood, traumatizing experience, Adelaide Wilson feels a presence as if something bad is going to happen. A certain day at the beach causes Adelaide, the mother,  to go into panic mode. Her son Jason goes missing and similar past experiences keep repeating themselves.

Returning home from the beach, nothing feels right. There is a family standing outside, wearing masks, watching them. Adelaide’s bad feeling was true. Her doppelgänger has returned and this time it’s Adelaide’s entire family.

A local, Lakewood High School student, Bryce Mitchell said, “The movie was scary. Us really made me think about the clues that were given at the beginning of the movie. It was deep on many levels.”
