    Spring Cleaning

    Spring Cleaning

As spring rolls around for what feels like the millionth time, spring cleaning, as an urge, comes back too. If you’re like me, however, and your bedroom is cluttered with a collection of winter items–you might need a place to start. Here are three good tips to kickstart your springtime cleaning and growth.

    1. Pick a corner.

Seriously, it’s that simple. Once you pick a corner of your room, you can dissect into parts what is most and least important to take care of for your mental health, and knock it out in order. For example, I started in the furthest left corner of my room where I had a messy desk and gear from the sailing season. I started cleaning off the top of my desk and then went on to organize the sailing gear. One corner–done!

    2. Open a damn window.

It’s springtime! Let the fresh air flow in and move the stagnant energy out while you clean. The power of an open window in a newly cleaned room is underestimated–especially when the smell of blooming flowers and the sound of chirping birds can be heard nearby. If you have some sage, this is the time to clear out the cluttered energy of your room, and your living space as a whole!

    3. Just clean out the fridge already.

The refrigerator is part of the house that we tend to ignore during any time of deep clean–especially expired food that hides behind the good stuff. Part of springtime is growth, so treat yourself to an update in your eating habits after cleaning the fridge–two rewards in one.

Senior Josh Shearer comments,”I like spring cleaning because it gives us a chance to declutter our lives from the mess that was winter.”
