    Warriors go up 2-0 in the series

    Warriors go up 2-0 in the series

    This past Tuesday, April 30th, the Golden State Warriors took on the Houston Rocket in the second round of the NBA playoffs. They won with a final score of 115-109.

    Key players like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were the reason for this win. Kevin Durant scored 29 with some early defensive efforts. James Harden of the Houston Rockets got hit in both eyes but was able to return, still finishing with 29 points and seven rebounds. The Houston Rockets were not happy with game one and the ref calls.

    Chris Paul cheered when Harden drew a foul on Durant in the last few minutes of the third. Harden made three free throws to out Houston up 82-75 going into the final twelve minutes. Going into the fourth the Rockets mad four quick turnovers that led to 10 points for the warriors.

    Harden scored seven straight Houston points in the mid-fourth including a three with 7 minutes left to put the Rockets up 92-89. Klay Thompson scored 21 points including consecutive three-pointers in the ending of the third quarter. Draymond Green had 15 points and 12 rebounds he also added seven assists.

    Curry dislocated his finger in the first quarter but returned. LHS student, Jared Yocabet Quoted “I thought he was out for the season to tell you the truth.”Curry missed 4 3-pointers before making one in the first quarter. Curry also had four fouls by the third quarter. Although curry still finished with 20 points he shot 3-13 form 3-point land.

    The Warrior’s bench also did work, Andre Iguodala finished with 16 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.  Game 3 will take place in Houston, where the Rockets hope to show any sign of life.
