    NBA Playoffs Update

The NBA playoffs started on April 13th this year. For the second round in the Western Conference, the Warriors played the Rockets in a close series where they almost lost the Rockets lost 2-4  to the Warriors.

In the third round, will the Warriors will be playing the Trailblazers in the conference finals. If the Warriors win the championship this year this will be their third championship in 3 years. Which has not been done since the Lakers in 2000, 2001, and 2002 seasons by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal who lead them to the three-peat.

On the lower side of the bracket, the Trailblazers won against the Nuggets in a 4-3 series and will attempt to beat the Warriors to go to the finals. The Trailblazers have not won a championship since 1977 and this could be big for them. But the Warriors won’t go down without a fight. Their first game of the series was on May 14th and the Warriors currently lead the series 1-0

Now in the Eastern Conference, the Bucks are in their conference finals against the Raptors. The Raptors just won their series against the 76ers with a 4-3 series due to Kawhi Leonard hitting a buzzer beater to finish the series.

The Raptors have never won a championship so this could be their chance but the Bucks are doing very well this year they placed first seed in the Eastern Conference with Giannis Antetokounmpo as their lead scorer in the offseason. Their first game is on May 15th at 8:30 P.M.

A Student from Lakewood high school named Tyler Zidick said,” I would like to see the Bucks win a ring this year instead of the Warriors.”
