Ravens vs Chiefs Proves Who The Best Young Quarterback Is

With week three of the NFL coming to close, the standings around the league haven’t changed much. Every team is basically where they started going into the game, with teams like the 49ers, Patriots, and Chiefs furthering their first place standings by starting the season with a three win record. But, lets talk about the Chiefs game.

In week three, Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to a win at home against a formidable opponent, the Baltimore Ravens. This game was expected to be an interesting match-up, with former MVP Patrick Mahomes competing against rising star Lamar Jackson.

Lamar Jackson was coming off a high of some great football through the first two weeks. In week one, Lamar threw for 324 yards and five touchdowns. In week two, Lamar threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns, as well as rushing for 160 yards. Going into week three, the Ravens were expecting the same domination.

But, partially due to good defense and partially due to bad throwing, Lamar got outclassed by Mahomes. If you compare the stats its very easy to see who had the better performance. Lamar completed twenty-two of his forty-three passes with zero touchdowns at a fifty-one percent clip.

Compare that to Mahomes who completed twenty-seven of his thirty-seven throws for three touchdowns, throwing at a seventy-one percent clip. Looking at these its clear that Mahomes had a better game, thus silencing the talk of Lamar Jackson being better than Mahomes.

But, what can you expect from the 2018 MVP of the NFL. The things that Patrick Mahomes are doing on the field have never been seen before, and it will be interesting to watch him play this season.
