    Spooky Season Festivities

    In the fall months, it’s officially sweater weather, the leaves are changing. It’s time to enjoy the beautiful weather before it changes to Ohio’s harsh winters.

    There are plenty of festivities to enjoy with friends and family during the season in the area; from haunted houses to hayrides. Here are some of Northeast Ohio’s top spooky season picks:

    1. Harvest Festival at Hale Farm & Village

    Celebrate the sweet, but sweet season of fall with all the smells, tastes, and beautiful sights it has to offer. At the Harvest Festival they have all the fall activities to imagine and more; make-your-own apple cider, a pumpkin picking and painting, apple butter-making, wagon rides, farm animals, and more! With your admission it includes, access to heritage gardens, food, and early american activites; such as blacksmithing, glassblowing, and making crafts. From any age you are gaurenteed a great time!

    When: October 12 & 13 (10AM-5PM)

    Where: Hale Farm – 2686 Oak Hill Road, Bath, OH 44210

    Cost: $10 adults (ages 13+); $5 youth (ages 3-12 yrs); members, youth 2 and under and active military free

    2. Not So Frightful Friday Nights at Mapleside Farms

    Maple Side Farms transforms into the perfect family event when the sun goes down. Navitgating through a corn maze with only a flashlight, a meet and greet with spooky characters, scary stories, enjoying delicious smores around a campfire, and numerous fun family games. Or if spooky activities are not your cup of tea, Mapleside also offers tours of the orchard in animal trains, hayrides, and flying down the America’s longest 311 foot super slide. Mapleside Farms has it all; make sure to come down next Friday for a promised not so spooky night!

    When: Every Friday (except Oct. 11) until October 25th  (4 PM – 10 PM)

    Where: Maple Side Farms – 294 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH 44212

    Costs: $10 per ticket

    3. HalloWeekends at Cedar Point

    This experience is more catered to the folk hoping for a scream or to wet their pants in fear. HalloWeekends has terrifying mazes, petrifying “Screamsters” hiding around each corner, outdoor scare zones, and not to mention your favorite adrenalin-pumping roller coasters. Everything about HalloWeekends is terrifying, yet so fun; go with your mom to hold your hand and make sure to wear your diaper!

    When: Every weekend from October 11th – October 27th (hours vary)

    Where: 1 Cedar Point Dr, Sandusky, OH 44870

    Costs: Ticket prices vary from $45-$73

    When asking Lakewood local, Clare Morrissey, about her favorite fall activities to attend, she had to say:

    “My all time favorite event to attend in October is HalloWeekends! Although I scream my head and freak out off every time, I keep coming back. It is so fun to experience with your friends; highly reccommend.”

    There are so many amazing activities Ohio offers in fall, so don’t let winter creep up on you before you’ve gotten to go on a hayride!
