Maddy Cummings is a junior at Lakewood high school and is currently in the swimming team, she has been swimming for eight years, three of them were in the High school swimming team

Q: Why did you choose to swim in High school?

“I have a lot of friends on the team and I’ve been swimming for so long, so that’s why I joined.”

Q: Is swimming the only sport you do in High school?

“Yes, it’s the only sport I do in high school right now.”

Q: What was the best moment of your swimming career so far?

“My best memory is when Parker Polen played the sax in his speedo for us.”

Q: Do you want to continue swimming in college?

“I don’t think I want to continue swimming in college but who knows.”

Q: Do you feel like you belong and fit in with the other people on the team?

“Yes they are now some of my best friends. And I can only thank swimming for that.”

Q: How is the environment?

“The environment is very welcoming and it allows me to be who I am.”

Maddy Cummings has found a place where she feels very comfortable and welcomed by her fellow teammates.
