Global Warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. It is an issue that could cause major damage to the ecosystem and every human’s well-being. If people’s lives are in danger why isn’t this issue being considered?

According the Global Climate Change, the planet’s average surface temperature has risen about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit since the late 19th century. It also stated that it is predicted to go up by 2.5 to 10 degrees in the next century. Global warming is rapidly getting stronger, which is why it must be stopped or even slowed down. While it’s at its lowest for a while we should use this time wisely and make a change in the environment.

According to Northwestern.edu there are many ways that anyone can slow down global warming. Including, Driving less, replacing your light bulbs with fluorescent light bulbs, recycling more. All of these things that can be done are so simple and take up very little time in your day. It is just a matter of are you willing to change your habits.

Logan Mitchell, A student at Lakewood High school, said,” It’s crazy that this rapid growth rate of global warming could possibly wipe out humanity, meanwhile people aren’t even worried, and are just going about their day.” As Logan stated, there is a severe amount of potential destruction that could be made. The earth heating up and eventually being too much for us animals to adapt to and eventually leading to extinction.

There is plenty of evidence and remedies that can be done to potentially save humanity. Whether it is doing them everyday or even doing them a few times each week, every little thing helps. If everyone could chip in just a little it could bring us as a society one step closer to saving humanity.
