Emily McIntire is a senior at Lakewood High School, a girl’s soccer captain, and an active member of Help 2 Others, National Honor Society, and Key Club. She has taken part in Project Lead the Way all four years of her high school career and has been part of the LHS track team. I sent her a few messages to see what plans she has for the future and how she is handling these difficult times.

How do you feel about your senior year ending like this because of the coronavirus?

I’m upset that it had to end this way, that I missed out on most of the fun parts of senior year.

How do you think experiencing the effects of COVID-19 during your senior year will impact your future?

I’m not sure, but I think it will probably make me more skeptical of everything going on around me. We waited four years for these last couple of months and now it’s all ruined.

Do you know where you are going to college? If so, where?

I am going to Heidelberg University.

Do you have any ideas as to what you would like to major in?

I am undecided.

What are you looking forward to most about college?

I am looking forward to being able to experience life outside of where I grew up, and having the opportunity to make new friends

What will you miss most about high school?

I will probably miss my friends the most.

What advice do you have for younger classes at LHS?

As bad as high school may seem, it is only four years of your life.
