Bella is a senior at Lakewood High School. She is in Symphonic Mixed Choir and participates in Photography at school. Bella will be attending Youngstown State University starting in the Fall of 2020, and will be getting her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice.
TaJon Short is a senior at Lakewood High School, and this is his second year attending this school. TaJon wrestles varsity heavyweight even though he is 70 pounds below the weight limit for that class. TaJon is also very interested in reptiles and amphibians and plans to pursue a career in a science field involving those animals known as Herpetology .
Corey Canant is a senior at Lakewood High School. He is new to journalism. He is taking this class because he wants to be able to notice the true and false stories presented to the public. After high school he hopes to go to Tri-C and play basketball then transfer to a university.
Liam Meszaros is an 18-year -old student at Lakewood High School. With the desire to become a better writer and explore new things, he took the Intro to Journalism course. In his free time, Liam enjoys various things such as music, art, writing, reading, movies, and video games. He is the oldest sibling of 3 and is in his final year of high school, due to graduate in June of 2020.
Joey Simmons is a 17 year old student new to journalism who enjoys writing, sleeping, eating and exercising. He wrestled his junior year but chose the life of wrapping burritos instead the following year. After graduation he plans to pursue nursing.
Jonas Evans is a 9th grade student taking his first year of journalism. In his free time he participates in many music groups both at his school and in the greater Cleveland area, including The Lakewood Project, Concert Band and The Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony. He participates in a volunteer organization called Home Alone.
Ashley Nelson is a senior at Lakewood High School. She enjoys being around children of all ages. She wants to pursue a career in early childhood education. Ashley is currently in the West Shore Class Early Childhood Education program. She loves volunteering around her community through an organization called H2O (Help to Others).
Johana Guci has been a resident of the United States for only one year. Her biggest passions are math and science, but she also enjoys making music and playing basketball. She is part of the LHS News Club, the “Home Alone” project and a member of the Lakewood Youth Council. This is her first time trying out journalism.
Jonas Hupcey is a senior and this is his first year on the Times Staff. He spent his freshman and sophomore playing for the hockey team and has been in the German Club since his junior year. He is also very excited to be joining the Times Staff. After graduation, he hopes to enroll at Central Michigan University and pursue a career in medicine.
Abbie Tuleta is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year on the yearbook staff. She joined because she wants to be more involved in the making of the yearbook. She plays soccer, hockey, and softball. She is also involved in the West Shore Program, Early Childhood Education. She loves being active and hanging with friends. She babysits a lot and enjoys making dinner for her family.
Caden Stanuch is a junior at Lakewood High School, and he has plans on joining the Navy SEALs. He doesn’t want to waste any time so he filled his schedule in order to graduate a year early. The SEALs are his ultimate goal and he is planning on going in to the military for life. He took this class in order to get his 21 credits and begin to start his adult life.
Michael Jones is starting his first year at LHS. He chose Cinema as a class because he wanted to try something new. He is also somewhat anti-social, which is also why he chose this class, to maybe meet a few new people, knowing he’s the only freshmen.
Maddy McFarlin is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her third year as a Cinema staff member and she has loved every year so far. She has been on the swim team for all four years of her high school career and she continues to enjoy herself every year. She spent the summer working as a lifeguard at Becks Pool saving peoples lives. She can’t wait to make her senior yearbook amazing.
Eleana Murphy is a junior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year as a part of the Cinema staff. Eleana joined to help organize and create the yearbooks, since they are they best part of the end of the school year. Eleana is a lifeguard for our very own Lakewood Recreation. She plays basketball for Lakewood High School, and loves to relax with friends or watch Netflix. After high school, Eleana plans to go to college to eventually work in the business field.
Mariah Umble is a senior at Lakewood High School. She was born on April 27, 2002, and grew up in Cleveland, OH. Mariah enjoys singing, cooking, and shopping with her family. At just 17, this young lady has 2 jobs and strives to take care of herself. Mariah wants to go to culinary school and become a pastry chef.
Essence Omotosho is a junior and it is her first year at Lakewood High School. Her favorite color is yellow. Her favorite thing to do is watch movies, specifically Marvel movies. She has a sister who is going to college in New Orleans next year.
Helen is a freshman at LHS. She is new to the Lakewood Times Staff and high school world itself. She joined the staff to learn more about journalism and improve her writing skills. She participates in the cross country and track team and plays bass in Lakewood Project. She is excited for this class to see her growth as a writer and to make new friends.
Emma wants to be a journalist and is excited to be writing for the Lakewood High School. She is a freshman and is happy to be here. She is anxious and excited to have her writing up for you to see.
Noor Imtiaz is a sophomore in Lakewood High School. This is her first year on the Times staff. She joined this class because she was told it is a fun class and she is looking forward to it. She loves swimming. In her free time, she loves to spend time with family and hang out with friends.
Kyle is a senior at LHS and is a new member of the Lakewood Times staff. He joined the Times in order to graduate. Kyle enjoys playing guitar and he works at Burger King as a sandwich artisan.
Avery Plumley is a junior at LHS. She has no past experience on the staff and joined because she would like to learn more about journalism and improve her writing skills. She works at Goldfish Swim School as a swim instructor and lifeguard. She enjoys watching TV and movies, and being a part of the LHS flagline. Her plans for college are to attend DePaul University in Chicago, and major in either criminal justice or medicine for her future career.
Eric is a senior and this is his first year as a member of The Lakewood Times staff. He joined because he believes it is an interesting class that gives a full English credit. He works as a starter at a golf course.
Sophia (Fia) Masek is a freshman fairly interested in the ideas and concepts of journalism. This is her first year on the Lakewood Times staff and is looking forward to seeing her published articles. Writing has always been a fascination of hers, along with dance, teaching, and art.
Isabelle is part of this staff because it is her last English credit needed to finish her senior year at Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio. She strives to be a pastry chef in the future. She is also going to be in the high school’s drama club, the Barnstormers.
Joan is a senior who transferred into the school this year. She joined yearbook to meet more of her classmates and get to know LHS better. In her free time, she enjoys working out, being outside, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her dog, Henry. She is currently undecided as to which university she will be attending in the fall but is excited about the college search.
Bryant Newlonis a senior at LHS. He has zero years on staff, but joined in order to get another English credit to graduate. He works at Little Caesars. His hobbies are playing video games and reverse engineering random things, He plans on going to Cleveland State University to pursue a Bachelors in Electronic Engineering.
Kitty is a senior this year at Lakewood High School and this is her first year being a part of the yearbook staff. She joined to be more involved with the creative and fun process this position includes. Kitty also has been playing softball for LHS since her freshman year. In the future she plans on going to college, although her major is undecided.
Peyton is a senior at Lakewood High School and is a first-year member of the Cinema staff. She has explored her academics and wanted to take the creative route for her last year and decided to take Cinema. Since August 2018, Peyton has been working at Panera Bread and, in her free time, enjoys listening to music, playing with her puppy and hanging out with friends. With her future, she plans to go to college to study pre-veterinary medicine.
Shannon is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is Shannon’s second year on the Cinema staff. Shannon’s really enjoyed this class last year and is excited to join again. His favorite hobby is basketball and he plans to attend Gallaudet University in Washington D.C and also play basketball for them.
Ben Merriner is in the 11th grade. This is his very first year on the staff. He joined because he heard that this class is really fun and a great learning experience. He loves outdoor activities, such as playing for the soccer team. In the future, he wants to go into the sports management field.
Michael Minadeo is a senior at Lakewood high and this is his first year on the Cinema staff. He joined Cinema this year because he wanted to make the yearbook his last year of high school! Michael is highly involved in the Barnstormers Drama club, recently acting in Mamma Mia (Harry Bright). Currently, Michael is a nursing assistant at a nursing facility. After high school, Michael plans to become a registered nurse.
Michael Paden III
Michael Paden III is a senior, and this is his first year on staff. He joined because he wanted to leave a mark on his school. He enjoys breaking controllers because of 2k and playing basketball. He plans on going to college to better his skills in art so he can pursue his dream of being a tattoo artist.
Kevin Harshman is an 11th grade student and this is his first year on Cinema Staff. He joined Cinema to follow in the footsteps of his older sister. Kevin works at Raising Cane’s in Lakewood. He enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with friends. Kevin’s future plans are to become a millionaire.
Aurora is a senior at Lakewood High School and this is her first year on staff for yearbook. She joined so that she could play a part in her senior yearbook. She works at Ice Cream Joy Cafe, a local coffee and ice cream store in Lakewood. In her free time, she likes to read, paint, and spend time with her dogs. Her future plans are to attend a four-year university and major in psychology.
Cassidy Baldridge is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year on the Times staff and her second year being apart of the yearbook staff. She joined both to be more involved with the school. She has played volleyball for six years and works at the pool in the summer. In the future she plans to go to college and do something in the medical field.
Meg Winters is in her freshman year at Lakewood High School. This is her first year on staff, and she is excited to learn more about writing. Her hobbies include reading, volunteering with H2O, and dancing at the Beck Center. In the future, she would like to attend college.
Mallory Moorman is a junior here at Lakewood high school. It is her first year in the Times Staff and is anxious to start. She joined just to pick up a different class. She spends most of her time playing volleyball and going to different events in and out of school with friends. She is also a lifeguard at Foster during the summer, and looks forward to finding another job during the off season months. She is unsure of her future plans, but plans in majoring in the medical field or criminal justice.
Matthew Mannion is a freshman. He joined because he wanted to learn more diverse ways of writing. In his free time, he writes, skateboards, and plays video games.
Ayden Wacker is a junior here at Lakewood High School. This his first year writing for The Lakewood Times. Ayden has a very strong interest in journalism and enjoys playing basketball for Lakewood. In the future, Ayden would like to attend college in Ohio. Career wise he would like to mix his love for sports and journalism to become a sports journalist.
Terence is a senior at Lakewood High. This is his first year with the Times and Mr. Ebner, and he is very excited about this prospect. He participates in swimming and baseball and works as a cook at Cleveland Yacht Club. He plans to attend college and major in political science after high school.
Halina Dreger is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her third year writing for the Lakewood Times and she has loved every second of it. Outside of class, she takes dance classes at the Beck Center, participates in the Lakewood High School Dance Group and works at the Lakewood Public Library. She plans to study dance in college and hopes to become a Dance/Movement Therapist in the future.
Alexander Schulz is a student who is currently in 11th grade. It is his first year on the yearbook staff. He joined because he was told that it is fun, so he wanted to try it. In his free time, he likes to meet his friends or play video games. In the future he wants to attend a university in Germany.
Chloe Fielder is in her junior year at Lakewood High School. She chose to be a part of the 2019-2020 staff because she wanted to take part in your yearbook. The 2020 seniors and of course everyone else deserve an amazing yearbook! Fielder wants to help make that happen! Her major jobs are succeeding through high school, increasing her PR in cross country running, and actually working at Mitchell’s Ice Cream. Chloe’s big future goals are to finish high school strong to study nursing at Ohio University.
Sam Csora is a senior at Lakewood High School. It is his second year of taking Cinema. Not only is he on the Cinema staff, but he has also been on the Lakewood High School soccer team for four years. Sam’s favorite color is blue.
Mila Kneeland is a senior at Lakewood High School. Her first two years, she played soccer. Though she stopped playing, she wanted to get more involved with the school and different types of art such as photography, ceramics, and Cinema. This is her first year on staff, and she wishes to continue art in college.
Grace Calfee is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year taking Cinema. Grace joined because she wanted to be a part of creating the yearbook. Grace volunteers at Fairview Hospital and enjoys spending time with her dog. In the future, Grace plans on attending CSU and work in the medical field.
Maizy Cunningham is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her second year as a part of the yearbook staff. She joined the staff again since she had a fun time last year and wants to be a part of the 100th edition. Her hobbies are hanging out with friends, watching movies, and playing volleyball and softball. Future plans she has for herself are to attend college and major in environmental science.
Anna is a senior this year at Lakewood High School and this will be her first year on Cinema staff. She joined Cinema to help create and capture memories of her senior year. You can find Anna dancing with the Rangerettes and Dance Group, as well as working with various volunteer organizations. Anna plans on attending a four-year university and pursuing a degree in special education or business marketing.
Emily is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year on Cinema staff and she joined because it sounded fun. Emily enjoys hanging out with her friends or relaxing with a good book in her free time. She participates in H2O and is a member of NHS. She also plays soccer for Lakewood, but doesn’t plan to play in college. Next year, Emily plans on attending college, but she is not sure where, or what she wants to major in.
Audrey is a senior at Lakewood High School, and this is her first year on the yearbook staff. She joined the staff so that she could help contribute to her school in a way that she finds both fun and interesting. Audrey is a Rangerette, a member of the orchestra, and a part of H2O. Audrey enjoys dancing, spending time outside, and hanging out with her friends. In the future, she plans to continue her education and earn a degree in nursing.
Alejandro Mercado a senior at Lakewood High. His interest in Cinema was the reason he joined. In his free time, he enjoys watching a movie or going out with friends. This is his first year doing Cinema. For the future, he plans to go into college to become a transportation engineer.
Zayd Abdel-Haq is in the 11th grade, This is his first year on the Cinema staff. He joined the class because he heard it was a fun time. He works for his father at his clothing stores, He enjoys fashion and the culture behind it. His future plans are to run his father’s stores and take them to new levels.
Nate Mims is in the 12th grade, and this is his first year on staff. He joined because it seemed like fun and wanted to try something new. Currently Nate has no job and, for hobbies, plays basketball and likes to go bowling. His future plans, as of right now, are to prepare for college and go from there.
Halle Breudigam, a student at Lakewood High School, finishes her final year as a 12th grader. This is her first year being a part of the yearbook staff and she has been excited to help create pages for the book and to be more involved with her school’s community. She plans to attend a university after graduation to study journalism and dance. Her hobbies include dance, gymnastics, writing, and art.
Sophia Miranda is in 12th grade. This is her first year on the staff and joined because she wanted to be a part of the yearbook process her senior year. She works as a lifeguard and swims on Lakewood’s swim team. Sophia’s future plans include attending college.
Ashley Rosa is a sophomore at Lakewood High School. She joined the Cinema staff during her freshman year, making this her second year. The reason why she joined this class is because of how calming and relaxing the environment of the class is. She also is looking forward to helping everyone else make the yearbook this year. Ashley is currently on the junior varsity volleyball team at Lakewood and plans on continuing playing throughout high school. She enjoys playing with animals and hanging out with the people that bring the best out in her. Ashley plans on continuing this class throughout the rest of high school and is looking forward to making her senior year yearbook in 2022.
Lucas Winters is a sophomore. This is his first year on yearbook staff. He joined because he thought it would be a different type of class. He plays football and baseball. He plans to go to college.
Aiden Kelley is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her second year on Cinema Staff. She chose to do it again because of how much fun she had with it last year. Aiden spends a good chunk of her time on the Cuyahoga River with her crew team. She plans on studying biology in college.
Aziza Mohamed is in 12th grade. She has been a staff member for only one year. She joined so she could participate in making the yearbook for her senior year. She works at Taco Tontos and Malleys in Lakewood. She enjoys hanging with her friends and plans on going to Ohio University next year.
Mr. Dennis Ebner
Dennis Ebner – Mr. Ebner has been the adviser of the Lakewood High School Cinema for the past 28 years and is in his seventh year as adviser for the Lakewood Times. Prior to coming to Lakewood in 1992, Mr. Ebner taught at Mansfield St. Peter and Trinity High School in Garfield Heights. He enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with his family — especially his eight grandchildren.
