Molly McGinty is a senior at Lakewood High School and this is her second year taking Cinema. She is excited to make her senior yearbook the best! In her spare time, Molly enjoys traveling, walking her dog, and listening to Britney Spears. Molly is anxious yet ready to graduate this year and to start the next chapter of her life.
Jonah Spachtholz is a senior at Lakewood High School who is looking forward to graduating. In his free time, he loves playing video games, listening to music, and sleeping. Jonah is a laid back, sometimes energetic, caring person. Jonah joined Cinema because he thought he would really enjoy the class and is excited to get to learn more.
Isabella (Bella) Nieves
Bella is a creative person and she enjoys producing things from scratch. She’s a hard worker and is very determined to reach her goals. She loves to sing and is in Lakewood High School’s Mixed Choir.
Sabrina is a junior at LHS. She enjoys playing basketball and softball for the school. Math is her favorite subject in school. Outside of class Sabrina loves to listen to music, hang out with friends and watch the sun set.
Ashley Rosa is a freshman at Lakewood High School and will be starting her first year in Cinema. Ashley decided to join the staff because she thought that, since she is a freshman, this would be a good way to get to know new people. Ashley likes to play volleyball, go camping with her family, and listen to music. Ashley is looking forward to having a great first year of high school.
Bryce Binion is a senior here at Lakewood High School. This is her second year in Cinema. She joined Cinema because all her friends told her it was super fun. Bryce also joined because everyone likes the teacher Mr. Ebner. Bryce is a 4 year varsity letterman on the girls’ basketball team. Her senior year, she is hoping to start varsity. She loves Lakewood and Lakewood High School. She is hoping to be accepted into Hiram College after she graduates.
Mya Amato is currently in the 10th grade. This is her first year as a staff member in Cinema. She took an interest in joining because she loves the yearbook and wanted to have a part of the experience. Her hobbies include playing volleyball, watching movies and shopping. She’s looking forward to being a part of the Cinema group and becoming more created/involved .
Laila Awad is a sophomore at Lakewood High School. This is her first year as a staff member in Cinema. She joined because of her interest in designing and writing. She is thrilled for people to see her work. Other hobbies that she enjoys are music, shopping and the media.
Leyla Umarova joined Cinema because she thinks it’s a class she’ll enjoy. Since Leyla likes to try out and learn new things, she takes classes after school to help her learn how to speak the Russian and Arabic languages. As well as learning new topics and trying out new stuff, Leyla’s very passionate about helping out people in need of help which is the reason she joined Ladies Leadership club.
Jennifer Ngo is a sophomore at Lakewood High School. This is her first year being in Cinema. She loves photography, cooking, baking, music and loves being part of the ROX group. She’s very happy to be part of the Cinema group and is very excited to get to know everyone.
Anthony Cunningham is a junior at Lakewood High School. Taking Cinema for the first time, he strives to become a better editor. Engineering is his career choice, at least at the moment. He is very easygoing and enjoys spending time with the people he cares about. He occasionally writes and draws. He’s a 16 year old who’s enjoying life. What else is there to say?
Sean Teets is a sophomore at Lakewood High School. He is on a whole other wave. His friend and teammate Jack Ryan told him about Cinema and he was immediately hooked. He enjoys long walks on the beach, trapping with the boys, and high-fiving people.
Charles Hericks is a junior at Lakewood High School. This is Charles’ first year as a Cinema staff member. He joined Cinema because of his love for writing. Charles is is on the high schools’ baseball and golf teams. Outside of school, Charles like to go biking, sleep, and listen to a lot of music.
Angela Lewis is a very average person. She’s funny, has a great personality, and loves life. She plays sports, loves to shop, watch movies, and play instruments. Her favorite sport is basketball. She loves the pace of the game and has been playing since 7th grade. Angela also loves to shop for shoes. If she could, she would buy any and every pair. Another thing she enjoys is going to the movie theater. After high school, she plans on going to college to study computer science.
Blanca is from Spain. She loves playing sports and she is currently on the soccer team. She also likes listening to music and being with her friends. She is joining Cinema class because she wanted to do a subject she has never done before.
Samuel Csora is a junior at Lakewood High School. This is his first year being a Cinema staff member. He joined Cinema because he thought it would be fun and he also heard his friends were taking it. He also plays soccer for the Lakewood High School team. When he is not in school, he likes to watch Netflix or sleep.
Shannon Cotto is the only deaf student at Lakewood High School and is on the basketball team. He is a really nice guy. He loves playing basketball anywhere. His whole family is hearing, but his sister is hard-of-hearing. He is a senior and goes to Lakewood High School. He is planning to play basketball for college men’s basketball. Basketball is his passion.
Mackenzie Merriner is in her senior year at Lakewood High School. She has been living in Lakewood her whole life. Mackenzie also has a little brother that is a sophomore at Lakewood High, and an even younger brother that goes to Harding Middle School. In school she enjoys seeing her friends and being able to see her old teachers and meet her new ones. She also will continue to play basketball for Lakewood High. On the weekend Mackenzie enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends, watching movies, and she enjoys being outside and just being active. After high school Mckenzie will attend college but is unsure on which one. Mackenzie can’t wait for what the future has in store for her and is ready for what is ahead.
Miranda Larimer is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her second year in Cinema. She’s excited to work on her senior yearbook and to make sure it’s perfect. She loves to paint and is very passionate about animals. She plans to be a vet and can’t wait to go to college.
William Hyatt is a freshman at Lakewood High School. This is his first year as a Cinema staff member. He joined to be a part of making the yearbook for 2019. Will hopes to make the freshman baseball team. With his friends, he likes to go camping and to the pool.
Tommy Sala is a 17 year old senior at Lakewood High School. He currently plays for the varsity basketball team. In his free time, he likes to hang out with friends, play basketball, and relax. He hopes to make his senior year the best one yet and is looking forward to becoming more mature as a person.
Angie Amato is a senior at Lakewood High School. In her free time, she sings in 4 choirs and gets voice lessons in Oberlin. This is her first year taking Cinema and she joined Cinema because she wanted to be a part of making her last yearbook at Lakewood High.
Madeline Zingale is a senior at LHS. She has 5 sisters and 2 dogs. She loves to travel and see the ocean. She loves art and has a passion for photography. She joined Cinema to make her senior yearbook great.
Cassidy Baldridge is a junior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year in Cinema. She joined because she wanted to help contribute to the yearbook. She loves to play volleyball and is part of the team at the school. She is looking forward to a great year.
Makenzy Ohmer is an 11th grader. This is her first year in Cinema. She joined this class because she wanted to work on the yearbook. She thought that it would be a fun class to take. She is on the Lakewood High School Flag Line. She is looking forward to a great year.
Semra Dervisevic is a senior at Lakewood High School and has been practicing constructing the yearbook for three years now to prepare her to perfect her own senior yearbook. She is determined to make this year’s book the best yet! Semra, in her spare time, enjoys traveling, baking endless sweets, and walking. She is relieved–yet anxious–to end her high school career and to begin her next chapter of life in a couple of months.
Zach is a junior who enjoys engineering and plans to major in mechanical engineering in college. He joined Cinema so that he could be a part of creating the yearbook for the 2018-2019 school year. Zach enjoys biking in the warm seasons and PC gaming in the cold ones.
Shaun is a junior who likes to work on vehicles. He is currently enrolled in the automotive class at Lakewood High and has plans to import his dream car and work on it in the next few years. Shaun joined Cinema to help out and make the yearbook. It’s something he has never done before and decided to try it out. In his free time he likes to snowboard and bike with his friends.
Charlie Cliffel is currently a senior at Lakewood High school. This will be his first year in Cinema, with the reason being to create his own senior year yearbook. He loves sports as well as sailing and snowboarding.
Maizy Cunningham is currently in 11th grade, on her first year as a Cinema staff member. She joined Cinema because she wants to be a part of the yearbook. Her hobbies included watching movies, playing sports, and traveling. She’s looking forward to having a memorable junior year.
Rawad Khawam is a junior at Lakewood High School. He joined this course to be more involved in the school life. He enjoys playing football and running track for the school. He is a Nimba all-star and is looking forward to this upcoming season.
Aidan Sterling is a freshman at Lakewood High School this and is his first year in Cinema. AIdan thought that this class looked fun and interesting so he tried it out. Aidan likes to fish, go camping, and run track.
Shane Rakes is a sophomore at Lakewood High School. This is his first year as a part of both the Times and Cinema staffs. Some of his hobbies include watching basketball and football. He joined the Times staff to get an English credit and to become a better writer.
Christopher Jacob Thelen
Christopher Jacob Thelen is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is his first year of Cinema. He joined because he is very passionate about the yearbook and likes to add his input. He is a hoodie fanatic. He loves sports and eating at Applebee’s. He enjoys dancing like no one’s watching and writing poetry about love and loss.
Lauren Jones is a senior at Lakewood High School. This year will be her 2nd year helping out for the Cinema. (Her first year being sophomore year.) Here are her own words about being part of the Cinema: “I like to give out my ideas for the yearbook and help out because it is a way of showing my creative side.”
What she loves to do in her spare time is sing, play around with makeup, write fan fictions, watch Marvel movies, listen to 90’s boy band NSYNC, and dance in the Lakewood High Dance Group. (Which will be her 3rd year this coming fall.)
She says dancing is a way of being able to be expressive, get out more, and be confident. Lauren cites Michael Jackson, Usher, and Lakewood High 2017 graduate Alex Schwarz as influences in dancing.
Lalia Riseng is a senior at Lakewood High School and this is her second year as a staff member. When she’s not busy with school, she is a member of the marching band and the swim team. She is looking forward to being able to help out with the yearbook and Times as part of a busy last year of high school.
Evelyn Jenkins is a senior at Lakewood High School. She joined Cinema as a staff member because she thought it would be an interesting class, and has helped create a yearbook once before. Evelyn enjoys creating art, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with her friends. She is looking forward to an exciting senior year.
Jacob Goings is attending his first year of high school. He plays soccer for LHS, and the coach is Andrew Toth, and the assistant coach is Grant Graves. Jacob enjoys playing Call of Duty and other first-person shooters.
Katie Booth is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her second year being a staff member for Cinema. She took the class because it’s a ton of fun and she loves writing and editing. Also, Mr.Ebner is one of her favorite teachers. When not at school, Katie spends her time playing with her guinea pig, Peaches, or hanging out with her friends. She loves watching TV shows and movies. Most of all, she really enjoys taking naps.
Jayden Reyes is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is his first year as a member of the Lakewood High Cinema staff. He decided to join because he wanted to make the yearbook for his last year of high school a good one. Outside of school, Jayden listens to a ton of rap music and resells clothes.
Nina Zanghi is a senior this year. This will be her 4th year on the Cinema staff. She joined Cinema because she has enjoyed the class for the past three years. She has been a part of the girls soccer team for the past 4 years, as well as the swim team. She looks forward to her last year at Lakewood High School.
Jordan is a junior at Lakewood High School. He join Cinema to pursue his passion for design and website building. He enjoys traveling and other adventurous activities. After high school, Jordan hopes to go into Information Technology.
Joseph Toole joined The Lakewood Times due to the lack of English credits he needs to graduate. When he is not studying for school he is most likely at practice or asleep. Joseph run cross-country, track, and dives for Lakewood High School. He also enjoys playing basketball and exercising.
David Facaros joined Writing for Publication for his senior year at Lakewood High School. Also, he is taking his second year of Cinema under Mr. Ebner. David took Writing for Publication to become an intelligent writer. In his free time David likes playing baseball, watching sports and going to the beach.
Seth Andregg joined the Lakewood Times Staff for his senior year at Lakewood High School. Seth is in multiple sports for the high school. He plays golf on the varsity team for the Fall and baseball in the Spring. He enjoys listening to music and hanging out with his friends in his free time. Seth looks forward to his senior year and getting the writing experience for writing for a wesbite.
Faith Patton is a senior at Lakewood High School who is starting her first year as a staff member for the Lakewood Times. She joined The Times because of her interest in Journalism (and Pre Law) as a major in college. Besides writing, she enjoys books, film, photography, unsolved mysteries, and contemporary art.
McKenzie Lane is now a senior at Lakewood High School who plays as a right side hitter and defensive specialist for the varsity volleyball team. Aside from volleyball, she is in Art 4 and enjoys reading. When she is not playing volleyball, she can be found working at Deagan’s Kitchen and Bar. This is her first year with the Lakewood Times and she joined because she enjoys writing.
Ali Alhamdani joined Lakewood Times because he wants to improve his writing skills. Ali is into shoes and sports. NFL football has taken over his life. He has played Rec. basketball for three years.
Molly Roche is a senior and a first year staff member for the Lakewood Times. Her interest in journalistic writing led her to the class. She plays first doubles for the varsity tennis team as well as coaching every summer. Aside from tennis, Molly enjoys watching movies, reading, and running. She likes to challenge herself and is eager to be a part of the Lakewood Times staff this year.
Madyson Al-Ghaben is a senior at ‘Lakewood High School’. She joined The Times staff due to interest of a major in ‘journalism’ in college. Madyson’s hobbies include writing, filming, video editing, acting and playing sports. Madyson is a part of Lakewood High School’s Girls’ Soccer team. This is Madyson’s first year in The Times, but she’s been a part of the Cinema staff for two years now.
Maddy McFarlin is in her second year as a staff member. She is going into her junior year. Maddy is on the swim team and enjoys writing. She is very excited to work on her writing and be able to publish it. She looks forward to a successful junior year.
Armani Adames is a senior at Lakewood High School. Armani has been a starter on the varsity baseball team since his sophomore year. As a freshman, he was a starter on the JV baseball team. Armani joined Writing for Publications his senior year to improve his writing skills. He also hopes to learn about journalism and publishing.
Max Boland is a senior at Lakewood High School and Editor for the Lakewood Times. Max has been on the Times for two years now and enjoys the writing practice it provides every day. They love yoga, clean eating and sailing.
Riley Geyer is a senior at Lakewood High School. She is heavily involved in the art and media art departments, and joined The Times Staff to acquaint herself with the publishing process and improve her writing skills. This will be her first year writing for publication.
Kaitlyn Rosa is a senior at Lakewood High School. She joined the Lakewood Times staff to gain experience with writing. This is her second year writing for the Lakewood Times. One of her favorite hobbies is listening to music. She also enjoys writing and playing volleyball. Kaitlyn is excited to see what her senior year has in store for her and to writing new and informative articles this year for the Times!
Ahmad Nijem is a senior at Lakewood High. He is a foreign student from Jordan. He enjoys spending his free time doing homework. He is known as a 2K god, and loves playing street ball. His favorite subject is English and he enjoys long walks in the park. He is determined to finish his senior year and graduate in orderly fashion.
James Morrissey is a 12th grade student at LHS who has been in Cinema for 2 years. Under the wing of the wise Mr. Ebner, James wants to learn more about the publication process and the hardship of being a professional writer. He is currently playing football and plans on playing baseball in the Spring. James is a avid music lover and enjoys spending time drawing.
Samuel “Pebbles” Stone is a senior at Lakewood High School. Sam is a member of the Times staff. He has been a staff writer for four years, and an editor for two. He joined freshman year, wanting to learn more about journalism and to publish his work onto a platform. He became assistant editor in sophomore year and co-editor in junior year. He enjoys writing stories and poetry, overall enjoying the act of creating works–fiction or news. Sam hopes to major in social work and go into the profession in his adult life.
Aiden Kelley is a junior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year as a Times and Cinema staff member. She joined because of her love for writing. Aiden is excited to see what will happen when she publishes her works. Her hobbies include writing, reading, and spending time outdoors.
Jillian Moorman is going into her senior year at Lakewood High School and joined the Lakewood Times staff in order to publish information to the school community in a creative and engaging way. She has been a Rangerette for the past three years. Of those three years, she has been a captain for two. In her free time she competitively dances and works at a retail store. Jillian loves spending time with friends and family, along with eating ice cream. She is eager to see what her last year has in store for her and is glad to be a part of the Lakewood Times.
Maddi Tobey is a senior at Lakewood High School. This is her first year on the Times staff and her third on the Cinema staff. She decide to join the Times staff to grow as a writer. In her free time, Maddi enjoys photography and hiking with her dog.
Mr. Dennis Ebner
Mr. Ebner has been the adviser of the Lakewood High School Cinema (yearbook) for the past 27 years and of the Lakewood Times newsmagazine and website for the past 8 years. He is a 1981 graduate of Walsh University with a B.A. in English/Secondary Education and also a 1996 graduate of Cleveland State University with a M.Ed. in Educational Technology. In 2017, he also earned his College Credit Plus certification from CSU. Mr. Ebner has been married for 36 years, has three married children and 6 amazing grandchildren. He enjoys reading, spending time at the beach and cheering on his grandchildren at all their sporting events.
