Lakewood goes to Districts

With 12 athletes moving on to the Division I Districts, you could say our LHS swimming and diving teams were quite successful.

In the swimming portion. we have Junior Olivia Lawrence competing in the 200 individual medley for her time of 2.24.40 at sectionals, she will also be competing in the 100 backstroke for her qualifying time of 1.04.79.

Senior Maddie Mahoney will be competing in the  50 yard  freestyle sprint for her time of 25.93 seconds at sectionals. She will also be competing in the 100 freestyle for her amazing time of 55.94 seconds.

Junior Sarah Neff will be competing in distance events. She qualified in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2.03.04 and the 500 yard freestyle with the third place time of 5.23.19.

Neff, Lawrence, Mahoney and Junior Grace Bulchik will also be in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Advancing for the boys Junior Luke Debaltzo with a time of 1.03.24 in the 100 yard butterfly. Senior Peter Schleckman will be competing in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 51.07 and the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1.53.29.

Sophomore Shawn “Muscles” Sovie will be competing in the 200 yard individual medley with a qualifying time of 2.15.13, he will also compete in the 100 yard backstroke for a time of 1.01.77.

For the boys Sovie, Schleckman, Junior Haden Bish and Senior Zach Gilchrest will be competing as one in the 200 and 400 yard relays.

Good luck to our ranger athletes as they compete at Bowling Green State University in the 2013 Northeast Ohio District Championship!
