Caroline Reed, Staff Writer

The Ranger football season is under way, and so is the Ranger Marching Band’s season. In addition to playing at every football game, the band plays at various marching band festivals and community events.

Last week they performed at the Stow-Munroe Band Festival. The Rangers will be hosting their annual festival this Saturday, September 21. They will welcome six bands from the area: Brush, Columbia, Eastlake-North, Fariview Park, Garfield Heights, and Lutheran West. The evening will feature a variety of music and marching styles. The Rangers will be performing a medley of hits from the 1980s. The festival begins with a short parade of all the bands down Bunts Rd. into First Federal of Lakewood Stadium at 7 pm. The field performances begin at 7:30.

This year is the 27th annual festival and the first of the under the direction of Mr. Harris and the assistant direction of Mr. Blasko, who is also the band director at Harding Middle School.

The Ranger Marching Band will also be performing at the upcoming Spirit Parade and Homecoming game. Be sure to look out for this band, built on pride, discipline, commitment, and respect.
