The nearby Akron Zoo is closing their “Journey to the Reef” underwater exhibit.
The exhibit has been open for four years and had 18 aquariums with more than 40 aquatic species. The Akron Zoo says that the exhibit will be closed down in November. But the zoo has something new planned for the empty space in the upcoming spring. Officials of the zoo said that the zoo exhibit was meant to be changed every few years.

Officials say that the zoo will have more aquatic and terrestrial animals. Also, they will add carnivorous plants.

The zoo also claims to be bringing back the holiday light show after 16 long years. The last time that the Akron Zoo had the holiday light show was in 2000.

The light shows will be held on the weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Visitors and families can have their pictures taken with Santa at Santa Land, which is a great and fun thing to take young and older children.

The cost isn’t too bad, just $15 for adults and $10 for kids.
