    Anyone interested in joining Ski & Snowboard Club this year needs to register on the Boston Mills website.  Please see Ms. Flynn in Mod 17 if you have questions or need paperwork.

    Come on down to Lakewood’s first inaugural corn hole tournament from 4 to 6 PM today in rooms A107/109 & Lec Hall 1! It only costs $5.00 for a team of 2 members and all proceeds will go to the junior class. This is a fundraiser for the class of 2018. First place winners will each receive a $10 chipotle gift card and runner up will receive five dollars. Staff and students are welcome, sign up in the book room today!

    This is a reminder to the students that have chromebooks. When not in use, the chromebook should be in its case. If you have a chromebook that needs to be repaired, the bookroom will not accept it if it is not in its case.

    Juniors and seniors are encouraged to meet with the College Representatives inside the Guidance Office, Room A111. Military Representatives will be outside of the Main Hallway 1st floor/ Lunch area. Students must obtain a pass from their classroom teacher if planning to visit during class. A pass can also be written by the Guidance Secretary.

    Attention Seniors – Prestige Photography will be here at LHS next Wednesday, October 26th from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM to take free senior portraits for the 2017 LHS Cinema. A signup sheet is located on the wall outside Mr. Ebner’s room (B207).

    If you have not or do not plan on going to the studio for a photography session, please sign up. This will be the only opportunity for in-school pictures.

    There will be a meeting immediately after school Monday, October 24th in A107 for girls interested in playing basketball this year.  Forms and other important information will be disseminated in preparation for the upcoming tryouts on October 28th & 29th.

     

    Attention students:  Are you struggling in your biology class?  Well, Biology study tables known as the Biology Bench will be starting on Tuesday, October 25th at 3:00 in room A319.  Come with questions, snacks will be provided.  Talk to your biology teacher for more details.

    There will be an Organizational Meeting for students that are interested in trying out for the LHS Baseball Teams in February. It will be held today at 3:05 in Lec Hall 2.  It is very important that you attend to find out dates and information needed to prepare for tryouts.

     

     

    H2O’s Westerly grocery delivery is today after school.  Stop by the H2O office and sign up if you can help out.  There are also spots left for some shifts at Pumpkin Palooza next Saturday, October 29th.  Come join in on all the spooky fun!  Don’t forget to pick up a November calendar when you sign up.

    On Thursday, October 27th, Club Identity will be sponsoring the premiere of the film “Love Is All You Need.” The film examines what might happen if being gay was the norm and heterosexuals were the minority. Join us on Thursday, October 27th in the Civic Auditorium at 7pm for the film viewing and a special discussion panel afterwards with the filmmaking team and cast members. Admission is free for ALL students with a valid student ID and $5 for adults. All money raised will benefit the local nonprofit organization Dare2Care.

     

    The Gamer’s Club quarterly tournament will go until 6 p.m. tonight, gamers who wish to have pizza should bring $2 with them.

     

    This year’s Light Up Lakewood Festival will be held on Saturday, December 3rd. As part of lakewoodalive’s commitment to fostering & sustaining vibrant neighborhoods, we partner w/Plantation Home to provide two $500.00 scholarships to Lakewood residents who are currently high school juniors. Six finalists will be selected to be interviewed, 3 for the Queen and 3 for the King. One Queen & one King will be chosen by the selection committee as the scholarship recipients. Application forms for this scholarship are available in the Bookroom. Applications must be emailed or postmarked by November 11, 2016.

    The ISA room has been moved to A137 so anyone with afternoon ISA should report to A137.
