    The Boss Baby Hits Theaters

    The Boss Baby Hits Theaters

One of DreamWorks newest movies, The Boss Baby, comes to theaters on March 31, 2017. The movie is directed by Tom McGrath and features Alec Baldwin, Miles Christopher Bakshi, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, and Lisa Kudrow.

The movie is narrated by Tobey Maguire. It was adapted from the book by Marla Frazee, which she wrote and illustrator. The book came out in 2010, and now seven years later there is what seems to be a very interesting movie.

The movie is about how the arrival of a new baby impacts a family. The story is told from the view of a 7 year-old named Tim, who is wildly imaginative, which makes him an unreliable narrator.  The Boss Baby is quite odd, arriving at Tim’s home wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase.

The sibling rivalry, that is part of most families, is quickly let go because of the surprising news. Tim finds out that Boss Baby is really a spy, with a top-secret mission. Only Tim can help stop an evil plot, that involves an extraordinary battle taking place between puppies and babies.

Movie reviews are in and  the critics have spoken. IMDb gave the movie a 5.6 out of 10 and Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 27%.  According to Metacritic, there have been eight positive reviews, fourteen mixed opinion reviews, and three negative views.

The Washington Post said, ” The Boss Baby is a sweet adventure tale about sibling rivalry that ultimately becomes a moving tribute to family and brotherhood”. Based on reviews and summaries the movie Baby Boss seems like it would be a good film to see. DreamWorks might have another hit on their hands.
