Wonder Woman

Looking for a highly entertaining , and empowering movie to watch this weekend? Well look no farther! “Wonder Woman” is the movie to see in theatres! It is about a sheltered young woman who lives on a remote island and figures out that she has super powers beyond anything she imagined. The cast includes Gal Gadot as the lead(Wonder Woman), Chris Pine, and Danny Huston. It is rated PG-13 for some action violence, but other than that it is a perfect family movie. Especially for the young girls who need to know that not all superheroes are just men! The movie goes for 2 hours and 21 minutes long, a little lengthy but all the best movies are!

“Wonder Woman” is the first big-budget blockbuster devoted to a female superhero based on the DC Comics characters. It is also the first directed by a woman, Patty Jenkins. I guess breaking stereotypes is this movie’s mission! Although everyone is wondering, will it live up to the hype?

Some movie theatres, such as the one in Austin, Texas are even having screening times where they only allow female attendees. The announcement has led to both an uproar of praise, and also complaints. The Alamo’s Austin branch announced that all proceeds of the special screening for women will go to Planned Parenthood. They are truly fully embracing “girl power”, as the theatre even pledged to have only female employees working at the screening.

Overall, I believe this will be a big step for society, and will break many awards.
