Thursday, May 25th, The Cavaliers beat the Boston Celtics 4-1, in the Eastern Conference Finals, with a final score of 135-102. In the mean time, our rivals, The Golden State Warriors, swept the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, with a score of 129-115. This means that for the 3rd time in a row, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors will be facing off in the NBA Finals. Taking you back to the 2015 NBA Finals, LeBron James came back from Miami and carried the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals. The Warriors ended up winning in 6 games, because Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love both got injured, and LeBron James only had his bench to back him up.
In 2016, the Cavaliers returned to face the Warriors in the Finals, and it did not look pretty the first 4 games. The Warriors took a 3-1 lead, and most Cleveland fans started to lose hope. Game 5, Kyrie and LeBron both went off and got 41 points, and the Cavs won 112-97. Game 6, the Cavs went off at home, and won 115-101. Game 7, both teams had a 50/50 chance of winning. The game was close the entire time, until the 4th quarter, where with 1 minute left, Kyrie hit a clutch 3 pointer to put the Cavs up 92-89. The Cavs ended up winning 93-89, and the Cleveland Cavaliers became NBA Champions, and ended there 52 year drought.
