Trump’s Comments to a Gold Star Widow

    Trumps+Comments+to+a+Gold+Star+Widow

He “must have known what he signed up for,” President Trump allegedly said in a phone call to a grieving Myeshia Johnson of her husband, Sgt. La David T. Johnson, who died in an ambush in Niger on October 4.

Johnson’s mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson, who was present for the phone call, stated that “Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband.” Florida Democratic Representative, Frederica S. Wilson, was also at hand during the call, and she has confirmed that she heard these remarks made by Trump.

“He made her cry,” remarked Wilson. “She was in tears. She was in tears. And she said, ‘He didn’t even remember his name.'”

The President disagrees with the account.

“Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a fallen soldier who died in action (and I have proof). Sad!” he said in a Tweet on Wednesday, October 18th. To an inquiring reporter, he also stated that he “didn’t say what that congresswoman said; didn’t say it at all. She knows it.”

Does Trump have proof? As of right now, it is three accounts against one, so the nation has yet to say how or if this plays out.
