After mass shootings typically the shooters family asks questions. Could we have stopped this? What signs did we miss? Where could we have stepped in?

Many red flags people missed leading 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz leaving that community to grieve and a nation to wonder if massacre on February 14 could have been stopped at South Florida High School.

Neighbors were concerned about the Cruz’s son since age 9 about ten years ago. He had several other accounts that worried many people such as getting into a rock throwing fight, also showing violence to baby animals. Later when he became a teenager he showed excitement about violent weapons such as guns and knives. He at one point introduced himself as a ” School Shooter.” Cruz would often walk around town with a pellet un shooting squirrels, Roxburgh told CNN.

Sheriff officers records show deputies responded the Cruz home on several occasions after Nikolas got into a fight with his mother or his brother. Another instance was when he was shooting the neighbors chicken with an air soft riffle. Linda locked the weapon away and decided not to press charges.

concerning more and more about him after his girlfriend broke up with him. He went on social media posting pictures of himself cutting both arm according to the Florida Department of Children and Families.

All of that information was never shared with locals. After the shooting on February 14th, Cruz ha been arrested for the shooting.

“When the FBI said is was the same name, Bennight told CNN, ” the first thing that went through my mind was, ‘Wow I hope at least you were watching this guy that I alerted you to months ago.”

Many of his previous classmates weren’t surprised it was him either because of his behavior in school.
