Seniors listen up. Many of you will be heading off to college this fall and many of you will need to a laptop for your classes. No not a Chromebook, a real laptop that runs either Windows or macOS. Too much money is a problem so here are 4 of the best laptops for college students under 1000 dollars.

 

With a price of around $699 the Asus ZenBook UX305 comes in with an Intel Core M3-6Y30 (dual-core, 4MB cache, 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost) along with 8GB of ram and a 13.3-inch 1080p display. To top it all of it has a 256GB SSD, 3 x USB 3.0, SD card reader, micro HDMI, headset jack.

Coming in next is the classic MacBook Air for just under $1000 with a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache, Intel HD Graphics 6000 and, 8GB 1600MHz DDR3. It has a 13.3-inch, LED-backlit glossy widescreen display (1440 x 900). The storage of the MacBook Air is a  256GB PCIe-based flash storage (configurable to 512GB flash storage) and is all you need with the cloud storage options.

Next is the Microsoft Surface Laptop with a price of $700-$1000 depending on what base model you get. The Surface Laptop sports either an i5 or i7 and can have 4GB, 8GB or, 16GB of ram and can have a 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB SSD for storage. All this comes in a super light system and continues to give you all the UI you need (USB 3.0, Headset jack, Mini DisplayPort and, Surface Connect™).

Coming in at the top is the Dell XPS 13. It flashes a. I5-7200U in its $1000 model. IT also has 8GB of ram a 128GB SSD, and a 13.3-inch 1080p display. Along with that, it has great UI and its display is bright, crisp and does not kill the battery. The Dell XPS 13 makes our number 1 spot due to what it offers and the price point it hits. If you want the best deal, go with the Dell XPS 13.
