Latest NFL Draft Rumors for the Browns

    Latest+NFL+Draft+Rumors+for+the+Browns

Tonight, April 26th, is the night we’ve all be waiting for; the start of the NFL draft. Our Cleveland Browns have the first and fourth overall selections in the draft, a unique situation that other teams rarely see themselves in.

It is widely speculated that the Browns will be taking a Quarterback with the first pick.  For many weeks, USC’s Sam Darnold and Wyoming’s Josh Allen have been rumored to be the two finalists for the Browns.

Darnold, who had a storied career at USC, has long been rumored to come to Cleveland. He has all the tools you look for in a QB; he’s a leader, great athlete, accurate thrower, and a proven winner. On the other hand he led the FBS in turnovers last year, with over nine fumbles. This is a statistic that scares the Browns fans, as we all went through the DeShone Kizer experiment last year.

Allen is arguable one of the most intriguing prospects in a long time. He displays a competitive nature, with a chip on his shoulder from only receiving one division one offer. He has what is considered to be one of the best throwing arms in a long time that has come through the NFL draft, with a video surfacing of him throwing a ball eighty yards through the goalposts on his knees. However accuracy issues have plagued him, and are definitely a concern for the Browns.

The rumors flowing today are that Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield, is going to be the #1 overall pick. This is considered a shock, as they haven’t been rumored to be considering him. However, Browns General Manager John Dorsey has been very quiet in who he is considering to draft, and it seems as if he has been enamored with Mayfield since before he took the Browns job late last season.

Whoever the Browns take tonight at #1 will set the tone for the rest of the draft. If North Carolina State Defensive End Bradley Chubb goes #2, the Browns are expected to trade out of the #4 spot, as they are rumored to be very interested in Chubb.
