The most anticipated boy band reunion has finally come true. On April 30th, NSYNC members Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick reunited for the first time in 20 months since the five men all gathered for Chasez’s 40th birthday party.

The gang reunited at the Walk of Fame Star Ceremony in Hollywood, California. With guest speakers Ellen DeGeneres and Carson Daly, the group was welcomed to the Walk of Fame.

Ellen joked, “I watched this band evolve over the years, and by that I meant I spent 10 minutes reading their Wikipedia page. They actually got their name from a comment Justin Timberlake’s mom made about their singing. She said when they sang they sounded in sync. You’re very, very lucky because if my mother named your band it would have been called, ‘Stop that racket, I’m trying to watch my stories.’”

At last, the members got on stage to express their gratitude to their fans.“This is so surreal. You guys are the best fans in the world,” says Justin Timberlake, “who came from far and wide to share this moment with us. Thank you, this really means the world to us.”

After Timberlake’s speech, Lance Bass spoke out about why he chose not to come out while the boy band was together, discussing how he couldn’t come out of fear of rejection, as well as jeopardizing the career of his fellow members.

Jokingly, JC Chasez concluded the ceremony with, “By the way in case any of you guys didn’t know, tomorrow it’s gonna be May.”
