Junior Albert Wilhelmy shined for the rangers in their Friday night game against North Olmsted. Even though the Rangers fell short of a victory, they fought hard and even broke some offensive records. North Olmsted hosted Lakewood last Friday at their home field for their homecoming night.

Wilhelmy was 28-30 in passing with a completion percentage of over 70%. He threw for over 320 yards, along with 2 passing touchdowns. He also ran for over 30 yards, leading the team in rushing yards.

Along with a record-setting performance, Kyren Jefferson broke a record of his own. He holds the school record for catches with 13 in one game. He also racked up over 150 yards. Jefferson didn’t find the end zone, but led the team to their impressive outing.

We asked Albert Wilhelmy about how he felt on his performance. ” I don’t think anyone was celebrating our accomplishments or even knew what we achieved because of the loss. After are game our coach was just going through the stat book and was telling the team about what are offense did, and how we played so much better than last game. Even though we lost how we did how are offense played gave us a lot of confidence and really helped us feel better about how we played. I couldn’t have done what i did without the help of not only the receivers but the Offensive line,” Wilhelmy states.

We talked to strong safety Dwighski Jackson about the game and how the team played as a whole. “I feel like each week we get better and better; our offense is rolling and we’re finally getting our confidence back. Our defense needs to step up and we need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot. I believe in this team and our coaches.”
