46-year-old Robert Bower, who commonly posted anti-Semitic threats, barged into a very popular Synagogue and began to shoot innocent people. The gunman killed 11 people and injured six. After exchanging gunshots with police officers, he finally surrendered and was taken into custody. Bowers busted into The Tree Of Life Congregation yelling, “all Jews must die,” says police sources that told CBS. He was armed with an AK 47 and two pistols. Six of the people whom were injured were treated at a nearby hospital. Four police officers were also injured during the shootout and they believe all of the injuries are not life threatening.

The city’s public safety direction, Wendell Hissrich, says there is no more threats for the city. The shooting is also being investigated as a federal hate crime. “It’s a very horrific crime scene, it’s one of the worst I’ve seen and I’ve been on some plane crashes. It’s very bad,” Wendell Hissrish said during his press conference. The Tree Of Life is located in Pittsburgh. The area this tragic incident occurred is commonly referred to as the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, which is also known as the center of the Jewish community.

Sophomore at Lakewood High School Benjamin Merriner says, “This is horrible people need to stop killing others and love one another and stop the gun violence.”
