Students, has a certain teacher inspired you, encouraged you, supported you, or motivated you to turn that “C” into a “B”? Is there a teacher who you think is just super cool? Then how about nominating that teacher for the PTA’s EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR!!!!

Also, do you know a LHS staff member (who is NOT a teacher) who is extra helpful, kind and supportive?  Or someone who you think deserves to be recognized for a job well done?  Then nominate that person for the PTA’s HELPING HANDS AWARD!!!

Staff can also nominate someone who goes beyond, and maybe inspires you!

Forms are available in the Book Room. Nominations are due next Friday, January 18.

Students!  If you had Economics, Government, Psychology, or Robotics last semester, return the books by the end of the day today.  If the book is not returned, the book will be added to your fees.

Attention all current and future AYF members – there will be a meeting today at 3:00 in B301.  We will discuss our upcoming candy sale and other important camp information.  Please see Mrs. Wheeler in B301 if you have any questions.

On Monday, January 21st, join H2O and the Race and Diversity club in making MLK Day a day of service to others, instead of a day off.  We’ll spend the morning volunteering in the community then come together for lunch and reflection of Dr. King’s legacy.  Sign up in the H2O office in the cafeteria.

Tomorrow at 1:30pm, we will have a Southwestern Conference Spirit event called Beauty and the Beast takedown Autism that will be held in the gym. The entire school is welcome and the event is free.  The teams are asking that students and staff donate any dollar amount during the event. The money raised will go to Culture City, which is an organization that works to support families and children with autism.
