    Mansfield Ohio Student Abducted

    Mansfield Ohio Student Abducted

Skylar Williams was a student attending the Ohio State University this year. On February 11th, the twenty-year-old was abducted from the campus at 11:45 am. According to reports, Williams was standing in a parking lot when twenty-four-year-old, Ty-rell Pounds, forced her into a car at gunpoint. Pounds and Williams had a child together, who was staying with family members during the abduction. Shortly after the abduction, Pounds ditched the original car for a stolen Dodge Caravan.

A few hours later, around 3:30 pm, a Witness in Kentucky dialed 911 reporting she saw a man forcing a distressed woman into a dark-colored Dodge Caravan at the gas station. The car fled toward I-71.

Police were able to find the car; however, Pounds was not going down without a chase. The chase ended when Pounds got off the highway and was prevented from getting back on due to a PIT maneuver performed by troopers.

After realizing his capture was imminent, Pounds reacted in a deadly manner. As a trooper got out of his car to arrest Pounds, Pounds shot Williams in the arm and chest. She was rushed to University of Louisville Hospital in an ambulance, but was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

When the police heard Pounds shooting Williams, he fired shots into the Dodge Caravan. Pounds was hit several times, which he later died from. During the investigation, a gun was found in the car. Ballistics tests done on the gun confirmed it was the one used to fatally shoot and kill Skylar Williams.

Lakewood High School Student, Sofi Dunay, was terrified by this crime. She said, “The possibility of being abducted in a parking lot is terrifying, but this case is scarier than that. She knew her abductor, and had a child with him.”
