Carlos Santana and Carlos Gonzalez supplied the offense for the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday, while Trevor Bauer pitched another win in a 7-4 Tribe victory against Miami at Marlins Park.

It was Santana putting the Indians on the board in the second inning with a solo home run to the upper deck in right field against Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara. Santana finished with three hits, including an RBI single in the third that set up Carlos Gonzalez’s game-breaking at-bat.

Gonzalez hit a 404ft bomb to the seats in right field in the top of the 3rd inning, which put the Indians in the lead with a score of 6-3. Gonzalez said he knew the ball was gone as soon as he hit it but was surprised when it barely cleared the seats in right field.

“I’m just excited overall,” Gonzalez said. “Just contributing and putting some runs and getting a big hit in that situation. It’s always nice. It feels good.”

Bauer was struggling early on in the game with a handful of walks but ending up pitching seven solid innings for his team. He ended up striking out 10 Marlins hitters. Earning his fourth win in seven starts.

Despite winning Bauer still was hard on himself about his performance.“All the messes I’m in are because I’m putting guys on base for free,” Bauer said. “Guys are going up there and not swinging at stuff, which is a good approach. Because I’m walking a lot of people… I’ve got to be better.”

Still Bauer stays strong and pitches a win for the Cleveland Indians. Longtime Indians fan Maddy McFarlin says “She is excited to see how far the Indians will go!”
