    Dylan Ferry

Freshman Dylan Ferry is the catcher and outfielder for the freshman baseball team here at Lakewood High School.  Dylan bats in the leadoff stop because of his great speed on the base path. On top of baseball Dylan is getting good grades in the classroom.

    Q.  How has the season went so far for the Freshman Baseball team?

The season had been good, but it has been difficult to juggle the academics with baseball at the same time.  As soon as I get home from baseball which has been as late as 10:00 I need to get my homework done right away then go to bed.

    Q.  What position do you like more catcher or outfield?

I like catcher better because I get more involved with the play, but it is way more physically enduring than center field.  Also it’s kind of fun talking with the umpire and calling the pitches that the pitcher throws.

    Q.  Are you included in any other sport for the High School?

No, but I think it would be fun to play for the basketball next season.

    Q.  Do you plan to continue you baseball career outside of High School?

I am planning to play all four years of High School ball and then maybe continue and go onto a D3 college team but I don’t plan on making a career out of it.

    Q.  Do you like being on the Freshman baseball team?

I love being on the team with all my friends even though our record might not be the best.  I really like the energy our team brings to the table and the work ethic most of us show.

    Q.  What are some things that you like to do in your free time?

I do normal things like playing lots of video games and hanging out with my friends when I have time.
