Lakewood Youth Council

The Lakewood Youth Council was established in 2019. It provides a voice for the community, allowing students to interact with other people and discuss with the community leaders about the changes and the development for better city.

It allows for engagement with topics regarding different health and safety issues also about community relations. This council is full of students and a lot of advisors who are interested and want this community to be a better place.

On September 16th, Lakewood City Council will vote on legislation to establish a new body of volunteers focused on growing city’s tree canopy. New group called, the Tree Advisory and Education Board, will collaborate on its practices to educate the people on the benefits on planting private tree and plants also on regulation and care of plants.

If you want to be a member of this council complete the online application as soon as possible. Paper applications can be found at both lakewood public library or your School. the deadline to apply is October 1st, 2019.
