    Covid-19

With the increasing emergence around the world of the virus known as COVID-19, also called the Wuhan or coronavirus, there is also increasing media coverage. People all over the U.S. are in a panic. Some stores are reported to have been completely sold out in medical masks, hand sanitizers, and toilet paper. While the panic is understandable due to the fact that the sickness is entirely unfamiliar to us, it is also quite excessive. It is important in times like these to remain calm.

Most of those that have been seriously effected are elders with lessened immune systems, or people with preexisting health issues. While people like myself, that are young and have more healthy bodies and immune systems, are still at risk of contracting the virus, we should seriously consider those around us such as our parents, grandparents, or teachers. Those in older age groups are far more at risk of contracting it on a deadly scale.

The entire state of Ohio has been called off of school for the next three weeks, and I think this was a good decision on the behalf of our government. Not only will it help reduce the spread, but it will also give the people time to determine if they themselves have contracted it, seeing as how the incubation period is roughly 2 weeks before serious symptoms start showing. Be safe, maintain hygiene, and wash your hands. In time, all will be well again.
