On Wednesday, Sept. 1, the Lakewood girls’ soccer team took on Elyria Catholic on their home field, Garfield Middle School. Before the game, Samantha Hudak shared some insights into how she thought the game would go. She said,¨last year we beat Elyria Catholic but we expect a very competitive game.¨

Their goal for the game was to have movement on offense both on and off the ball. Everyone could definitely see that goal showing at the game on Wednesday. Unfortunately, they lost 2-0 since within the last 20 minutes of the game, Elyria scored their first goal.

After the game, Samantha Hudak said, “I am proud of my team for putting up a great fight and I am excited for our next game against Berea.” She also talked about their practice plan for their next game, saying “We always practice how we play and I love being able to play in games because it gives us an opportunity to put what we learn in practice into a real game.” Watching the team play, you can definitely see the fun they are having with each other and their coach. Fans should be very excited to see what this team will do in the upcoming games.
